They are red in color and typically firm in touch because of pus. The bumps have a head,and it may spontaneously drain. The primary treatment for boils includes antibiotics, hot packs and drainage. You should immediately contact your health care professional in cases of fever, chills and chronic health conditions like – diabetes, kidney failures and cancer.

Boils are contagious, the infection can be spread from contact with the fluid from the boil, and this can be preventable with proper skin care regiments and hygiene. Boils with a bacterial infection are called Fur uncle. Large abscesses, involving a group of hair follicles are called carbuncle. A culture of the pus may be required to identify the causative bacteria. This will help in identifying the antibiotic regimen. Anybody can develop a boil; however people with the weak immune system because of certain illness and medication are more likely to develop them.

Simple boils which are noticed at an early stage can be treated by home remedies such as, hot or warm water soaks/ compresses. Heat compress increases the blood circulation of the affected area; this helps in softening, drainage and healing of the boil. Apply them for 10 – 15 minutes, 3 – 4 times a day.

Skin tags are the small, soft and fleshy skin growth. They often have a stalk, are usually harmless but are annoying because they may compromise your aesthetics. A person may have one or many skin tags. Obese, pregnant women and middle-aged are more prone to developing skin tags. When Skin tags are bothersome, they can be easily removed by tying, cutting them under local anesthesia. They can also be removed by burning, snipping and strangulating with a ligature.

An angioma is an abnormal growth present in the skin; it is produced by dilatation or formation of new blood vessels in the affected area. They are benign and can be located anywhere in the body. The precise cause of Angioma is unknown, pregnancy, genetic and climatic conditions may have some link. There are many different types of Angiomas, like – spider Angioma and cherry Angioma.

Cherry Angiomas are also called red moles because of the bright red colour and oval shape. They are common in middle-aged and do not cause any concern. Talk to your healthcare professional if you notice any bleeding or change in size and colour. Avoid scratching; rubbing or cutting Angioma at home, this can cause bleeding. Cheery Angioma can be easily removed with the help of shave excision, electrocauterization, and cryosurgery and laser surgery.

Spider Angioma is also known as a vascular spider, spider nevus. It is found beneath the skin; it usually contain a central red spot, have reddish extensions which radiates outwards. Having more than 3 – 4 spider Angiomas is considered abnormal, it may indicate underlying liver disease. Tooth brush: it is the first and foremost thing which comes in our list. Every day we brush our teeth with our tooth brush, but have we ever checked that how good actually our tooth brush is it? It must be replaced with a new one when the bristles of the brush get damaged. Damaged brush doesn’t clean the teeth properly. Our brush also contains lot of bacteria, if it is not cleaned properly. So, whenever you fall sick replace the tooth brush with a new one. Have a new brush for at least every 6 month. If a damaged brush is not replaced, then it may cause lead to tooth problems or other severe problems.

Towel: we clean our body and face with towels. A few use separate towels and some others may use a single towel for the entire family. We use it for cleaning body, i.e., sweat, dirt, etc. and Sweat is nothing but bacteria. Imagine the bacteria being spread to other parts of the body and also to your family members and causing skin related issues. So, wash it regularly and use only dry towels.

Pillow covers: some people cannot sleep without pillows. A clean pillow gives sound sleep and not changing the pillow for many days may cause you uncomfortableness. Comb: As we all know comb is used to clean our hair. Comb is generally filled with lot of dirt and pollution. It desperately needs regular cleaning to keep scalp and hair free from infections. Also change or clean it regularly and use a separate comb if you have any infections. It is advisable to use wide bristles comb, as it makes cleaning process very ease. So, replace a comb for at least six months. A separate comb must be used if an individual is having scalp issues or dandruff problems.

Lipstick: This one is especially for ladies and girls. Discard your lipstick if it is being used more than a year.
