Lemon water is a detoxifying, refreshing drink that has been chugged by humans since ages.
Lemon is a citrus fruit. Because of its intense sourness it cannot be eaten as stand-alone fruit, but it is used in small quantities along with spices or herbs in cooking. It adds dynamic and wonderful favor to drinks, sauces, curries, salads, desert and marinades.
The use of lemon is not limited to enhance taste of foods. It also possesses medicinal properties and is a commonly used ingredient of most of home made as well as commercially sold beauty products. Lemon is known to keep disease at bay, boost immune system, protect DNA cell, relieve inflammation and to keep yourself fit and healthy.

Lemon water is usually safe to drink, but as it contains citric acid too much intake may erode tooth enamel. Thus drink lemon water in limit (1-2 glass a day). Better drink it with straw and after drinking lemon water rinse your mouth properly. Lemon water may also worsen heartburn so better avoid it if you have acid reflux.
