In some females the immune system is hypersensitive to certain substances such as spermicides, sperm, latex, lubricants, contraceptive rubber diaphragms, feminine hygiene sprays and topical and oral medications. When such females encounter thesesubstances, it causes allergy resulting in vagina burning. The best solution is no doubt to avoid allergens that stimulate vaginal irritation and burning.

#6. Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, chalmydia, trichomoniasis and shyphilis not only cause vaginal burning but also pain during urination, vagina discharge and vaginal bleeding between the periods. Sexually transmitted disease contracts on having sex with your infected partner and is common in females of reproductive age. Vaginal burning is not a disease but a symptom. It may not be a matter of concern but maybe an indication of STD or bacterial vaginosis. If left untreated bacterial vaginosis and STD may lead to serious complicationsespecially if the female is pregnant. Some STD can pass to the baby and some may lead to preterm delivery. Treatment of vaginal burning depends on the cause. A few things that may help include ice pack, cold compress and application of petroleum jelly. Avoid irritants and wear cotton underclothes. Avoid douche, perfumed soaps, and perfumed sanitary products.
