Certain medications, poor diet, sudden weight gain or weight loss, poor nutrition, stress, PCOS, smoking, hyperthyroidism, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, liver diseases, anemia, tuberculosis and uterine abnormality. Breastfeeding and pregnancy may be the cause of absent mensuration.

  1. Jaggery and Sesame Seeds-

    Roast a handful of sesame seeds and grind then along with a teaspoon of jaggery. Consume one teaspoon of this every day. Make sure to take this empty stomach 14 days before the due date of your periods. Repeat this for a few months.

  2. Coriander Seeds-

    Boil a teaspoon of coriander seeds in a glass of water. Boil until the quantity of water reduces to half. Strain and drink this solution. Start taking the solution a few days prior the due date.

  3. Vitamin C-

    Vitamin C is known to contribute to the production of estrogen. Thus increase the intake of vitamin C. Foods rich in vitamin C are citrus fruits, sprouts, Brussels, berries, apple, and broccoli.

    * Before increasing the intake of vitamin C do confirm that you are not pregnant as a high dose of vitamin C causes miscarriage.

  4. Aloe Vera-

    In the skin of aloe vera there a yellow substance that promotes menstruation and normalizes the bleeding cycle. Take a leaf of aloe vera, cut it and extract its gel. Now add 1 teaspoon of honey to aloe vera gel. Consumer this before having breakfast before the due date. *Do not consume aloe vera juice during periods.

  5. Pumpkin Seeds-

    Pumpkin seeds is considered an effective home remedy to treat oligomenorrhea. It is a rich source of copper, zinc, protein, manganese, magnesium, zinc and iron. Also, it contains essential fatty acid and promotes the production of reproductive hormones. Roast a handful of dried pumpkin seeds and grind them. Add a tablespoon jaggery to it. Grind again and make a fine powder. Take a tablespoon of this powder daily before having breakfast 14 days before your due date.

  6. Ginger-

    Ginger is well known effective home remedy to treat irregular periods. Being rich in magnesium, vitamin C, copper, potassium, and manganese it promotes the production of hormones. Grind a few pieces of ginger and extract its juice. Ass a tablespoon of ginger juice to a cup of water and boil it for 10 minutes. Let this concoction to cool down to bearable temperature and then drink it. You may add a little honey to it for taste. Take this for a few days before your due date.

  7. Turmeric-

    Turmeric has emmenagogue properties. It promotes the menstrual bleeding. Also, it is known to balance the level of hormones and relieve menstrual discomfort and pain as it is anti-inflammatory. Add a teaspoon of turmeric to a cup of water and drink it or you may add a teaspoon of turmeric to a glass of milk and have it. Take this regularly for a few months and you will get the desired results.

Most of the home remedies are to be takes 15 days before due date and should be stopped during periods. Take any of the home remedies as suggested for a few months. And when your get more than 3 consecutive periods on time discontinue them.
