The Stage 1:

The stage 1 is the prepubescent stage where not much physical change occurs.

The Stage 2:

The stage 2 of puberty in female typically occurs between the age 8 to 13. It is a period when the breast begins to bud and the pigmented area around nipples known as areola enlarges. During this stage the height increases about 2 to 3 inches per year and light genital hair begins to appear.

The Stage 3:

Between the age 9 to 14 girls move through the different changes of stage 3. The changes include the continue budding of the breasts and growth of underarm and pubic hair. The hair on the genitals get thick and coarse and covers more of the genital area. The skin of the female becomes oily and there may be acne development. It is the stage when the growth spurt of the female is more than 3 inches per year.

The Stage 4:

This stage typically takes place between 10 to 15. It is the stage where the breast continues to grow and nipples start to protrude out. The growth spurt continuous at the rate of 2 to 3 inches per year. During the third stage, most of the females get their periods. However, in females who lack body fat periods my start later and a few females,may also get their periods after 9.

The Stage 5:

What Is Delayed Puberty?

In a few girls, puberty starts at a very late age or she does not seem to be progressing timely to the puberty. It is always better to consult a doctor if your girl do not get her periods even after age of 16. In most of the cases if mom was a late bloomer chances are that daughter will be late bloomer too. If the puberty happens before the age of 8 or the changes in the body progress very quickly such as periods starts before the development of breast it is termed as precocious puberty.
