Every fertile woman bleeds every month (Cycle may be delayed or preponed in case of hormonal imbalance) from menarche to menopause. Many a times period become inconvenient, painful and messy. Periods last for 3-7 days, and a lot of changes happens in your body during those days.

To manage the period flow, sanitary pads have proved to be of great help. But some women develop rashes in the vaginal area on using them. The period rash or pad rash may be due to the irritation caused by the inner thigh and vagina due to chemicals, synthetic materials or fragrance added to the pads. It is caused due to grazing of thighs and dampness. Using a cotton pad and changing pads at regular intervals may help to some extent but with home remedies for periods rash mentioned in this article, you will find total relief.

Home Remedies to Get Rid of Period Rash Fast

Ice- Ice numbs and soothes the affected area. It can be used to reduce inflammation and pain in the inner thigh and gives you a pleasing sensation.

Wrap a few pieced of ice cubes in a clean cloth and apply to the affected skin for 5 minutes. Repeat this a few times in a day. Avoid applying ice directly to prevent chilblains.

Aloe Vera-

The cooling and soothing property of aloe vera is a great help in getting rid of pad rash. Also, it eases the itch.

Extract fresh aloe vera gel and apply to the affected part a few times in a day.

Yoghurt-

Not only yoghurt acts as a cooling ingredient but also balances the skin pH and is antibacterial.

Clean the affected area. With the help of a cotton ball apply yoghurt to the affected skin. Let it dry and then rinse it off. Repeat this 2-3 times in a day.

Apple Cider Vinegar-

Apple cider vinegar is acidic and balances the skin pH. It soothes the affected area in relieves inflammation and itch.

Soak a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and apply on the rashes. Leave it to dry. If you experience burning and rotation dilute apple cider vinegar to half Quantity of water. Repeat this three time in a day.

Coriander Leaves-

You must have added coriander leaves to cooking, but it has have curative properties. It reduces inflammation and itch.

Wash coriander leaves and crush them to make a paste. Apply this paste to the rashes. After 20 minutes wash them off.

Peppermint Leaves-

Peer mint provides a cooling effect and eases redness and itch.

Steep a few peppermint leaves in a cup of water. You may use peppermint tea bag for the same. Steep for a few minutes and then wash the affected area with this tea and wipe it off.

Olive Oil-

the anti-inflammatory and antibacterial nature of olive oil not only reduces swelling and redness but also soothes skin.

Clean the affected part. Apply olive oil to the affected area 3-4 times in a day.

Tea Tree Oil-

Tea tree oil is rich in antiseptic properties and is used to treat pad rashes effectively.

Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a teaspoon of coconut oil and apply it to the affected part with the help of a cotton ball.

Coconut Oil-

Coconut oil is a readily available home remedy to get rid of the period rash. It is antioxidant and has antibacterial properties.

Just clean the affected area with water. Pat it dry and with the help of cotton ball apply coconut oil to the rashes. Leave it overnight for relief.

Indian Lilac or Neem-

Neem leaves are rich in anti-inflammatory properties and help to get rid of pad rash.

Boil a few glasses of water and add a handful of neem leaves to it. Steep for 15 minutes and then let it cool. Now wash the area affected by this neem water two ties in a day.
