1.Apple Cider Vinegar-

The antimicrobial properties of apple cider vinegar fights the infection and cure laryngitis. The acidic property of apple cider vinegar kills the bacteria and soothes the throat.

Mix a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water. Also, add a teaspoon of honey to it. Drink this concoction two times a day. To make this concoction more effective add one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper to it.
Alternatively, you can also add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a cup of water and gargle with this solution three times a day.

2.Onion Syrup-

Raw onion has antimicrobial properties. Drinking raw onion juice cures soreness and eases a sore throat. Onion is a superb expectorant and thus removes the phlegm and congestion.
Peel, cut and chop a few onions and extract their juice. Add five teaspoon of onion juice to a glass of water. Also, add a teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice to it and drink it.

3.Honey-

Honey is antibacterial and antiseptic. It keeps the throat moist and soothes it. Swallow raw honey 2-3 times in a day. You may also make honey tea by adding a teaspoon of honey and a half teaspoon of lemon juice to a cup of water and drink it warm. To increase the effectiveness, you may also add one-fourth teaspoon of cayenne pepper to it.

4.Garlic-

Garlic is a very beneficial kitchen ingredient that treats some health issues. It contains allicin that is antibacterial. This makes it one of the effective laryngitis home remedy.

Suck a clove of raw garlic or add it to your cooking. You may also add raw garlic to equal quantities of apple cider vinegar and water. After 4 hours add honey to it and store it in the refrigerator. Take two tablespoons of this syrup at intervals of 6 hours.

5.Salt Water Gargle-

This is the simplest way to get rid of laryngitis. It thins the mucus, reduces swelling and inflammation, kicks of the bacteria from the throat and also promotes healing.

Take a glass of warm water. Add a teaspoon of salt to it and gargle with it three times in a day.

*Those who are suffering from hypertension better avoid adding salt to warm water.

6.Slippery Elm-

Slippery elm, is a nutritious plant that is commonly found in North America. Mix it with water,and it forms a slippery gel that acts as a great lubricant. Thus, slippery elm can be used to treat the irritation caused due to laryngitis. Mix a small amount of the powdered slippery elm to 8 cups steaming water and take a small quantity of slippery elm three times a day.

7.Lemon Juice-

Lemon juice contains Vitamin C that promotes the healing. Also, the acidic nature of lemon kills the bacteria. It stimulates the production of saliva and hydrates the mouth and throat. By thinning the mucus, lemon juice treats congestion and blockage of the nose.
Squeeze juice of a lemon and add it to a glass of warm water. Drink it 2-3 times in a day. To increase its effectiveness, you may add a small amount of cayenne pepper and a teaspoon of honey to it.

8. Liquorice-
