Making of the Gulkand

Assemble a layer of rose petal and sugar (you can use mishri) in a glass jar, keep it for 30 to 45 days in the shade. To maintain the composition, stir it continuously. Gulkand is sun cooked for 3-4 hours every day, after 30-45 days it would be ready for use.

Gulkand is considered highly safe, it can be easily consumed by children (2-3 grams), adults (5-15 grams), and pregnant and lactating mothers. No side effects have been observed, the only disadvantage is that it is rich in sugar and therefore it should be consumed under medical guidance in the case of diabetic patients.
