Effective Home Remedies To Treat Hyper-Pigmentation

In our skin the substance called melanin absorbs all the UV rays and protects the skin from pigmentation. But, when there is excess melanin in the skin then this causes uneven dark spots and patches on the skin that leads to hyper pigmentation.

Here are some effective home remedies to prevent hyper-pigmentation:

1# Turmeric

Turmeric has anti-inflammatory substance called curcumin that helps in preventing the blemishes and skin infections. It helps in improving the skin texture and cures skin infections as well. Take 1 tbs of turmeric powder and mix 1 tbs of honey to it. Make a paste and then apply this on the pigmented area and let it stay for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water and nourish your skin with a moisturizer. Use this for 2-3 weeks to get rid of dark spots and pigmentation.

2# Lemon Juice

Lemon helps in lightening the skin tone and keeps it glowing

Lemon juice is acidic in nature that helps in reducing hyper pigmentation from the skin effectively. It has natural bleaching properties that keeps the skin free from blemishes and spots. Take half lemon juice and soak a cotton ball in it. Soak a cotton ball in this juice and dab it on the effected area. Let this juice sit for 20-30 minutes on your skin and rinse it with water. Apply a light moisturizer on your skin as lemon juice tends to make your skin dry after application. Do this twice a day everyday and you will see improvement in your skin tone. After using it for a month, you will get a blemish free and spotless skin for sure.

3# Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has bleaching properties that cures dark spots and lightens the skin. Dilute it with water before using it on the skin as it can be harsh on the sensitive skin. Dip a cotton ball in this mixture and apply it on the affected area. Let it sit on your skin for 20 minutes and then rinse off with water. Repeat this for 6-8 weeks to get rid of hyper pigmentation and dark spots on your skin.

4# Vitamin C

Vitamin C helps in lightening the skin and takes away pigmentation and blemishes from your skin. Apply vitamin C serum on your pigmented area and see the transformation in your skin within few weeks. After applying the serum on your skin let it dry and then apply a light moisturizer over it. Use it twice in a day to get rid of pigmented skin.

5# Aloe Vera

Aloe vera keeps the skin healthy and moisturized thereby reducing pigmentation

Aloe vera has soothing properties that keeps the skin healthy and moisturized. It also regenerates the cells and renews them to give you a glowing skin that is free from the blemishes. It also aids skin healing and protects the skin against sun damage. Apply fresh aloe vera gel on the effected skin and then leave it overnight. Wash it off next morning and you will see a wonderful change in skin pigmentation after few weeks. You can take out fresh aloe vera gel and store it in a container. Place it in the refrigerator and apply it on the pigmented area on daily basis.

6# Vitamin E

Vitamin E is healthy for skin and hair and it is also known as ‘skin vitamin’ as it helps in removing the blemishes and spots from the skin. It also helps in reversing the sun damage on the skin that causes pigmentation. It also tightens the skin and reverses the damage done to the skin like wrinkles and pigmentation due to exposure to the sunlight. Mix it with any other oil like coconut or olive oil and apply it on the affected area and leave it overnight. Wash off your skin the next day and within few weeks you will get rid of hyper pigmentation.

7# Potato

Potato has bleaching agents that helps in keeping the skin texture light

Potato contains high level of catecholase that is a natural bleaching agent that helps in lightening the skin’s texture and also corrects the pigmentation of the skin. Take a raw potato and cut a thin slice of it. Rub this slice on your skin for 1 to 2 minutes twice in a day on daily basis. Let the juice sit for 10-15 minutes on your skin and then rinse off with water. Repeating this process for 2-3 weeks will fade away the pigmentation on the skin.
