Our skin has small pores; they connect to the oil glands with the help of follicles. Follicles are small sac like structure which produce liquid. Through the follicle, a small hair grows. Oil glands produce sebum, which carries debris like dead cells through the follicles to the external surface of skin. When these follicles are blocked, pimples grow. Hair, skin cells, debris, sebum clump together to form a plug. When this plug gets infected with bacteria it develops into swelling.

Acne is a treatable skin disorder, increase in sex hormones called androgens impacts oil glands which become overactive and produce too much oil or sebum. Excess oil, blocks the pores or the hair follicles and causes proliferation of bacteria’s like Propionibacterium acnes, which is normal flora of skin. Acnes can be of many types like Black heads, whiteheads, cysts, nodules and pimples.

It is believed that Vitamin C and E, selenium, carotenoids and zinc contributes in healthy skin. These nutrients helps in reducing free radicals, they slow down the process of wear and tear of skin and repair skin damage.

Avoid processed foods, because processed food increases insulin levels, which increases androgen production in body and contributes to acne.

This oil is extracted from the leaves of plant called, Melaleuca alternifolia. It sooths the skin naturally and reduces itching. It also has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties.

Apple cider vinegar is known for its antibacterial properties, it helps in drying the excess oil on skin.

You can easily apply it with the help of cotton ball. Always dilute it with water, for sensitive skin, it is always advised to add more water. Let it sit for few seconds and rinse it with water. This can be repeated 1-2 times a day.
